MyChartsBook ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our trading journal and pattern recognition platform.

Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Email address (required for account creation and login)
  • Password (securely hashed, never stored in plain text)

Trading Data You Provide

  • Chart Screenshots: Images you upload to your master files, stored securely on Cloudflare R2
  • Trade Log Entries: Trade dates, ticker symbols, entry/exit prices, position sizes, P&L, and R-multiples
  • Backtest Results: Strategy names, win rates, profit factors, and drawdown metrics
  • Journal Entries: Trading notes, psychology observations, and lessons learned
  • Tags and Categories: Custom labels you create to organize your setups

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other sensitive payment information on our servers. Stripe provides us with limited information such as the last four digits of your card, card brand, and billing address for receipt purposes.

  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and features used within MyChartsBook
  • Date and time of access
  • Referring website (if applicable)

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide the Service: Store and display your trading data, screenshots, and analytics
  • Calculate Metrics: Generate performance statistics like win rate, profit factor, and P&L summaries
  • Account Management: Send password reset emails, subscription confirmations, and important service updates
  • Improve the Platform: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and user experience
  • Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries and resolve issues

Data Storage and Security

Where Your Data is Stored

  • Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security ensuring you can only access your own data
  • Screenshots: Cloudflare R2 with encryption at rest
  • Authentication: Supabase Auth with secure session management

Security Measures

  • All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Row-level security (RLS) policies in the database
  • Passwords hashed using industry-standard algorithms
  • Regular security updates and monitoring

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or trading information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your trading screenshots and journal entries are private to your account.

We may share data with:

  • Service Providers: Supabase (database/auth), Cloudflare (file storage), and Stripe (payments) — only as necessary to operate the service
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect our rights

Your Rights and Choices

  • Access: View all your data through the MyChartsBook dashboard
  • Export: Pro users can export trade logs and backtest data to CSV
  • Delete: Remove individual entries, screenshots, or request full account deletion
  • Update: Modify your email address and password in settings

Data Retention

  • Active Accounts: Data retained as long as your account is active
  • Cancelled Subscriptions: Your data remains accessible (with free plan limits) unless you request deletion
  • Deleted Accounts: All data permanently removed within 30 days of deletion request

Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell data to ad networks.

Children's Privacy

MyChartsBook is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
